My Approach

As a client-centered psychologist, I start by working together with you to foster a strong therapeutic relationship that is built on trust and compassion. It is hard to be vulnerable and I will do my best to ensure that you feel supported in an open and inclusive space. I will work hard to be present, curious and non-judgmental with whatever shows up in our work together and will encourage you to do the same. My hope is that through collaboration, you will discover what you value in your life and feel empowered to make decisions that bring you closer to what is most important to you.

I graduated with a PhD in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University in 2011 and completed my American Psychological Association (APA) accredited doctoral internship at the University of Iowa. Prior to obtaining my PhD, I received a bachelor's degree in social work (1997) and a master's degree in counseling (2000). I am currently licensed as a psychologist in the state of Georgia (PSY003691) and certified as a National Register Health Service Psychologist (54332). I have 20 years of experience in providing mental health services to a wide range of diverse individuals in a variety of settings which includes inpatient psychiatric, community mental health and university counseling centers.
